The league separated nicely into a top, middle, and bottom 4 by the end of the year making the relegations straight forward. It was close through the middle of the season but the cream rises to the top. Congrats to the Cheng Gang on the win and congrats to the Beer Garden and Lucky Dogs making it into the Champions League as well.

On a topic that probably no one cares about, I was able to predict 9 correct finishes in this league. In the previous two years, I never did better than 4. Thanks, everyone for being predictable.

Team Begun – 9th Prediction – Minor Leagues

After starting 2-4, Team Begun did little in the second half of the year and find themselves with a one-way ticket to Loserville. Even though Mixon had a resurgence, no one else seemed interested in playing on this team. To be fair, Team Begun did face one of the highest points against all season so they had some bad luck, but overall this team just didn’t put up the points.

Alstadt Beer Garden – 3rd Prediction – Champions League

The Beers left promotion down to the wire again this year by going down in the first round of the playoffs. However, they absolutely crushed it in weeks 15 and 16 to put up over 320 points in these weeks and gain the final Golden Ticket to the Champions League. In the past two years, this team has just been on the outside looking in. So despite 3rd place being a little disappointing based on the strength of this team, the main goal was achieved. Welcome to the Champions League.

London Dre Tones – 6th Prediction – Minor Leagues

The Dre Tones couldn’t quite turn a favorable points against total into a return to the Champions League. A 1-5 start was too big a hole to climb out of but the 4-1 finish was good enough to keep them in the minors. The end of the season really showed what this roster could do. Maybe a few different lineup choices early could have put this team in the playoffs but in the end, it wasn’t mean to be.

Stoke Penguins – 7th Prediction – Minor Leagues

The Penguins really struggled to put it together down the stretch. Despite doing their best to have all of their players wearing red(Chiefs, Falcons, and 49ers made up 7 of 9 starters at the end) a 2-3 finish will leave this team in the minors. Devonta and Damien Williams really doomed this team from the start. Losing two top RBs will almost always keep you out of the playoffs.

Lucky Dogs – 2nd Prediction – Champions League

I thought this team was going to cruise into the playoffs, but they stumbled to a 2-3 finish and the last two wins came in the final weeks to just scrape out 4th place in the regular season. A lucky playoff win the first round put this team into the finals and a second-place finish. Certainly, a finish to be proud of and the team is onto the Champions League. This team will need to finish out the season a little stronger next year if they hope to compete at the top level.

Complete Momination – 12th Prediction – Amateur Hour League

After a 3-2 start, this team couldn’t find a win for the rest of the season. Zeke, Golladay, and Kelce weren’t enough down the stretch to find any wins. The QB position proved to be one of the most costly for this team. A tough year is going to put this team down in the Amateurs. I believe the momination will still happen, we will just have to wait a year for it.

Cheng’s Gang – 1st Prediction – Amateur Hour League

The team was a little lucky to get into the playoffs. They faced the fewest points against all season and were middle of the road in points scored. But the team really put it together in the playoffs and earned the championship in the league. I don’t think a middling points scored total is going to cut it at the next level though. I am worried about their chances in the Champions League.

Team Carr – 4th Prediction – Minor Leagues

From the luckiest team to maybe the unluckiest, at least in the playoffs. After earning the regular-season championship, this team laid an egg in the first round of the playoffs. Outside of over 40 points each from Fitzpatrick and Prescott, this team put up only 90 points from the rest of the players over two weeks. That is rough. -8 Points from a strong SF def certainly doesn’t help but the rest of the team just didn’t score points. I don’t remember any specific injuries, just terrible luck. Still a great regular season and I wish this team better luck next year.

Tom’s Puppet – 8th Prediction – Champions League

An 0-3 start proved to be a bit too much for this team to overcome despite rattling off 4 straight wins in the middle of the season. Finishing the season at 2-2 left this team right in the middle looking at another year in the Minors. Jared Goff, David Montgomery, and Tevin Coleman all really struggled down the stretch when this team needed them the most. There were moments in the season where this owner looked like a genius but the consistency just wasn’t there.

Donkey Teeth – 5th Prediction – Minor Leagues

This team had a solid season but was just a bit unlucky on the point against department. A 6-5 record could have easily improved by a win or two with a more favorable schedule. That would have catapulted this team into the playoffs. The roster was solid up and down the lineup. Every position was filled by a top 20 player and most in the top 10 at their position. James Conner and Jameis Winston probably hurt this team a couple of weeks as well though which kept them out of the playoffs.

Meath Royals – 10th Prediction – Amateur Hour League

After 120 points the first week, well it was just ugly. You can look at the week one roster and see a whos who of disappointments and busts. There just aren’t enough players on the waiver wire to fix the gaping holes. AB, Roethlisberger, Gurley, Jeffrey, Rivers, Darnold. Not good.

Team McAfee – 11th Prediction – Amateur Hour League

Despite a great win the final week of the season against the regular-season champion, McAfee just barely missed out on staying in the Minor Leagues this year. A tough result for a 5-6 team. Granted the record far overachieved what is expected from the second-lowest points scored. The team did have some firepower, but most of the team was also capable of putting up big duds. The lack of a second QB will also always hurt a team in a Superflex league.
