Hello Everyone and welcome to the 9th year of the Relegation Fantasy Football Association. Here we are in the Minors. I think this league is going to need some trades. There are some teams very stacked at some positions. If some teams can leverage their strength into more value, they will be set up well for the playoffs. If some teams don’t make trades or don’t get the value out of those positions, then they are going to be left in the dust.
It should be fun to watch the negotiations. For instance the value of a 5th QB is very low for that team. But very high for the team with only one viable starter. So there is a huge range of outcomes for that negotiation. But a deal needs to be made soon. Waiting 6 weeks to make that deal will sink both teams. So this league is very difficult to predict. But the good news I am an expert at this and I am rarely wrong. Please don’t look at past years and fact check that one.
Justshort - 1st Pick (Minor Leagues)
Jayden Daniels 1st overall. Only person to not take Josh Allen 1.01. Not sure if that is good or bad. Then the next couple of picks are really solid. Drake London and Chase Brown should be really solid. Drake Maye is the darling of the analysts. I really like Pickens also. Harvey, Pacheco, and Jauan Jennings all have some potential but then I do not care for the rest. Downs is hurt and lacks some volume. Same with Reed. Kincaid has really underperformed. I just want to see more in the bench to think this team is going to make it to the playoffs and get somewhere.
GoBirds - 2nd Pick (Amateur Hour League)
Stars and scrubs describes this QB room. Josh Allen is the star, Rodgers and Shedeur feel more like scrubs. Kittle in the 4th is actually solid value. But Puka makes me nervous when his QB is getting epidurals. Mike Evans is getting old. At some point he will come up short of 1k yards. Rice is suspended. I also grabbed Tyrone Tracy in my league but that pick is filled with regret already. The last picks are in retirement homes with Nick Chubb and Tyler Lockett joining Rodgers. I just don’t see it working out for the season.
The1andOpie - 3rd Pick (Champions League)
I am not sure I love the one two start at QB. Obviously no issue with Lamar, but I am not sure Bo Nix is worth a late second round pick. However this team still picked up solid WRs with Nico Collins and Tee Higgins. DeVonta Smith and Travis Hunter are waiting in the wings to cover the flex spot. That really leaves RB fairly late. But Alvin Kamara still has all of the upside and is a great pick for this build in the 5th. Tony Pollard in the 7th feels like a safe option as well. Hunter Henry is fine to hold down TE for part of the season. Then there is some late upside with Stefon Diggs, Ollie Gordon, and Jordan Mason. Not my first choice for a build, but it was executed well.
SaintLewis - 4th Pick (Amateur Hour League)
Another one two start at QB but this one doesn’t work out so well. St Louie hits RB after the QBs picking up Jonathan Taylor and Kenneth Walker. Then WR is Marv, DK, and Zay. Walker, Marv, and, DK all have a lot of variability. There is a chance each is a homerun, but more than likely they all have a few spike weeks and the rest of the time this team is struggling. Then the bench really lets down this team. Joe Mixon sounds like he is closer to out for the season than anything else. Cooper Kupp is showing his age. And a second TE probably isn’t going to move the needle. It just didn’t come together in the end.
Gshirron - 5th Pick (Champions League)
I am very close to putting this team in the Champions League but I don’t think they are quite there. So much of it feels good. Chase and BTJ at the top. McBride slipping to the 4th. Waiting on QB but getting Stroud, Ward, and Dart. Then I see James Connor and Deandre Swift back to back. These just feel like traps. It seems like everyone thinks they will get good workloads, but everyone is looking around nervously hoping someone affirms that take. Then Jerry Jeudy and Jakobi Meyers feel like floor plays. You don't need floor plays at a position with Chase and BTJ. Then Colston Loveland feels like a lot of capital, even in the 11th, to spend on a TE when you have McBride. So just not quite there for me, but after I got to the end. I think this is the third best team for me. So into the Champions League they go.
Nyr30 - 6th Pick (Champions League)
It is fun to see different draft strategies really come through. Here Nyr picks up a balanced start with Saquon, St. Brown, and Bowers. Bowers feels cheap here. Then he picks up his QBs with Purdy and Caleb. Then slams WR 5 times followed by RB 4 times with Spencer Rattler sprinkled in. I like all the WRs. Some upside with each one. And then RB is done well. Javonte should at least have workload in week 1. Then Blue, Ekeler, and Rachaad White all are capable pass catching backs who can fill in spot RB starts. I think this team will have good points as well as the trade potential of those WRs.
Bmiesen - 7th Pick (Minor Leagues)
Here is another team that is so close to the Champions League. Burrow and McCarthy are solid QBs. I have no issue with Nabers, Josh, Jacobs, and Ladd going between those two QBs. But then it gets shaky. Kaleb Johnson does not appear to have a large starting workload with Pittsburgh. Neither will Cam Skallebo, Trey Benson, and Bill Croskey. But one of them has to fill that RB2 spot during week 1. So how long before one of them breaks out? That may be too many weeks taking Ls. I do like Warren at TE and these are not bad upside picks, but too many early season questions.
SeanMcCormick - 8th Pick (Minor Leauges)
Another oh so close team. Lamb and Jeanty up top. No issues there. Dak and Goff after that, I am good with that pairing too. Garrett Wilson is where my issues begin. And it is not Garrett so much as it is Fields. I just don't think Wilson is going to put up enough points this year. Then you get Judkins in the 7th. He may not have a contract for week one. But right now he was drafted as the flex starter. Then WR feels very slim with only Shakir, Hollywood, and Kirk left to fill the room. I need to see more power at WR especially with the concerns for Garrett.
Tosh612 - 9th Pick (Minor Leagues)
Another team looking for mid to late WR help and I do not think they found it. Lets go back to the start of the draft with Mahomes and Fields. Obviously Mahomes could be a top 5 QB. He has done it many times before. But recently, it does not feel like the Chiefs are set up to make that happen. And Fields has the legs, but his arm continually lacks performance. So already we have issues. Then after some solid RBs with McCaffrey and Hampton, the top 3 WRs are Hill, Sutton, and Ridley. Age is catching Hill and Ridley and Sutton was WR 13 with 8 touchdowns. I think that number can drop for 2025. And there is little to write about for late round WRs other than Keenan. I think Keenan will not be a weekly starter for fantasy this year.
JessBeals - 10th Pick (Amateur Hour League)
QBs are arguably the most valuable position in a SF league. But it is still a lot to take 5 of them. It leaves WR2 for week 1 as Keon Coleman most likely. Which he definitely could fill that spot, but I would rather he sit on my bench until I know. Then back to back TEs with Hock and Kelce seems like more bench spots taken up by early and mid round picks. This team has to make some moves very early in the season if they want to have a chance. Otherwise they will watch draft value rot on their bench.
Stuey - 11th Pick (Amateur Hour League)
Not quite as crazy, but 4 QBs is a lot. And spending two of those picks on the Colts QBs doesn’t feel good. Sure it guarantees you a starter. But do you really want to start them? Ever? And after 3 of the first 4 picks going to RB, This team will have Scary Terry at WR2. Any analyst who talks regression, has mentioned McLaurin until their voice gives out. There is little upside later with a needless TE2 pick and some low upside players. Trade a QB quick for a good price and there is still a chance.
FFinnAnalyst - 12th Pick (Minor Leagues)
Imagine sitting at the turn and knowing you need a second QB. You wait past the three four turn to pick up AJ Brown and Kyren. Then the next 4 times before you pick, the person before you takes a QB. The first two times the 10 spot also takes a QB despite already having their starters. That is a rough place to be sitting in the draft. But this analyst isn’t necessarily finished. They just hammer RB and WR. Some hits and misses. Pearsoll and Egbuka, pretty good. Brian Robinson not so much. This team can even survive the first two weeks unlike the 10 and 11 spots because Flacco can stand in for QB2. Then when some players start going off, this team needs to grab one of those excess QB and pull of some trades.
