Congrats to Andy Jansen and the MN Skol for beating all the rest of the scrubs in the Amateur Hour League. Maybe I shouldn’t be so harsh because this league put up the second-highest average points scored in the RFFA beating out both Minor Leagues. That includes some lineups that weren’t exactly set each time. So great job everyone. The top was crowded, and it was a great finish to the season. Congrats to all those making it to the minors.
. O Saquon U C? – 10th Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
O Saquon U Stink. Well, at least when he has a bum ankle he isn’t the 1st overall pick people expected. Even when Saquon wasn’t producing this team was still working hard and pulled out 3 wins coming down the stretch after starting 1-5. It still wasn’t enough to guarantee a spot in the Minors, but usually, at least two people drop out so you might get a lucky pass up to the next level. If you do, you may want to reconsider the QB draft strategy. Dalton and Garoppolo may not be the best leaders for your team.
Show Me Your TDs – 9th Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
Ok, roll those back up. I have seen enough, and it wasn’t pretty. A 1-4 finish to the year isn’t what the manager had planned. To be fair the opponents put up over 130 points 3 of the 5 weeks making it quite difficult. Now this team is relying on a spot opening up. With only 2 skill players in the top 20 of their position and none in the top 10, this team may want to rely on some different players as well.
I’ve Had Bad Luck– 4th Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
4 Wins to finish the season catapulted this team into the playoffs with the highest point scored in the regular season. Unfortunately, this team completely fell apart in the playoffs. A horrible 64 points in the first week of the playoffs was just brutal and completely unexpected form the highest-scoring team. I believe this team drafted Luck which makes the run all that much more impressive. That is a lot to replace in a superflex league.
Team Nakagawa – 8th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
This team really outperformed their points scored which was rather low. A 6-5 record was pretty good. A number of players like Conner and Cooks didn’t live up to their draft stock. I think this team should be happy with their result and start preparing for the Minor Leagues where they will hopefully get some better luck on their quest for the Champions League.
Team Froass – 6th Prediction – Amateur Hour League
This boom or bust team put up some amazing weeks. 3 weeks exceeded 130 points but for 4 weeks the team failed to put 100 points. This left them in the middle of the pack wishing for something a bit better. The team was set up for Melvin Gordon’s return but by the time Gordon came back DJ disappeared. That left this team in the same struggles as before and the early losses were too much to overcomes.
MN Skol – 1st Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
After a 2-2 start, we heard the Viking war cry and this team didn’t drop another game for the rest of the season. Only one of those weeks did they score less than 119 so it was a well-deserved winning streak. Congrats again to the championship and good luck next year. Maybe you will follow the footsteps of last year’s Amateur Hour League champ and capture a win in the Minor Leagues as well.
Titan Up – 3rd Prediction – Amateur Hour League
I thought this team was going to be in the bottom 4. Instead, they almost ran the table. In their only loss, they put up 124 points so that could have easily been an 11-0 season. Unfortunately, that doesn’t matter much in the RFFA if you can’t keep it up in the playoffs. A 200-point first round isn’t going to cut it and left this team a disappointing 3rd after a great regular season. Maybe the team just needed a bit of experience in the playoffs and next year they will be ready to get to the championship game.
SCLSU Mud Dogs – 5th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
A really rough year for the Mud Dogs who put up the second-most points for the year but that was only good for a 5-6 record. Having the second-most points scored against will do that to you. There were two losses where the Mud Dogs put up over 132 points. You don’t expect to lose those games. Luckily, they still earned a transfer spot which is the important thing in the Amateur Hour League.
Fux with Chux – 12th Prediction – Amateur Hour League
There were some roster issues in the draft and in the weekly support. Still, an 0-11 year is a tough one to swallow and the roster doesn’t reflect the complete void of talent you expect out of a winless team. Just a tough year with injuries and underperformers.
Captain Kirk is Climbing a Mtn – 11th Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Well, I think the rigors of the season got to this team. Flacco didn’t make it through the season so this team didn’t have a second QB to roll out. For some reason, Brian Hoyer made the lineup for a couple of weeks. Probably not the best idea to play a backup QB. It is also best to set lineups the whole time, you never know when you can sneak out a win and it is fairer if everyone is trying.
Built by Bama– 7th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
This team never had the best talent but managed to pull out 6 wins across the season. There was even a legit chance for the playoffs. Week 11 was lost by less than a point and week 12 was a loss to a team that put up 72 points. Both were winnable and would have been good for an 8 win season and a playoff run. This team will have to wait until next year in the minors to see if they can get to the playoffs.
Chubba the Hut – 2nd Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
After a 5-0 start, this team stumbled into the playoffs finishing 2-4. But a lucky first-round playoff win put them into the championship. A lucky second place is better than an unlucky 5th, just ask the Mud Dogs. Maybe there were some disagreements between the owners down the stretch which led to some poor management. We will see if these two can get the chemistry back next year and repeat their early-season success. They will need to improve the second half of their season if they want to get to the playoffs in the minor leagues.
