Amateur Hour League Draft Recap

Sloths, Molasses, Tortoises, Snails and now the 2021 Amateur Hour League. All things that are historically and sometimes painfully slow. Lets not waste anymore time and get into this.

Jessmann82 – 1st Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)

Grab your running backs. Get a top QB. Fill out your QBs and WRs with a TE that has some potential to repeat a very good 2020. Then grab some late RBs with some upside. I think this is pretty chalk for a 2021 draft. Maybe you could want a bit more at QB2 than Roethlisberger or Daniel Jones. You can’t expect to get every top player. This is a solid team that will be in the playoffs but they have left the door open to competition.

Crimedog90 – 2nd Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)

We see a similar blueprint as the first pick but we have a few detours. Mike Evans is very dependent on touchdowns last year. Jamarr Chase hasn’t been looking the best. DJ Chark has some potential but he has also shown some reasons for concern. Picking up Jameis late in the draft might be enough to give this team either a trade piece or a valuable QB to play. The WRs are a bit more worrisome than Jessman so I am putting this dog in the minors, but not in the playoffs.

Alex Poli – 3rd Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

In a league that is hungry for RBs, you could get in trouble waiting on one. Here we see the RB2 as Henderson. He could be very good but we could also see him give up touches to Michel. This would be especially bad if those were at the goal line. Even then I would be okay with Henderson if there was more than Kenyan Drake behind him on the team. 2 defenses and some late WRs aren’t the upside this team needed with the lack of RB depth. This team will be okay early but down the stretch the attrition of an 17 game season will start to take its toll.

kkdanielle – 4th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

Sometimes you have to come out and say everyone else is wrong. This is my Guy. Jalen Hurts is a 2nd round pick. It's great and all, but he probably would have been there 1, 2, maybe 3 rounds later. Then to lose Etienne in the pick where you maybe could have had Hurts makes it…well hurt a bit more. Ekeler and Hurts instead of Hurts and Etienne would have made this team much more solid. Still some late RBs have some potential and the top of the team is pretty good. The injury might be tough to overcome without a bit more firepower.

pfroas – 5th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)

When everyone else zigs, sometimes it is good to zag. 1 of only 2 teams to not grab an RB in the first 3 rounds. And the WRs are solid. But picks 4, 5, and 6 will define this team. Deandre Swift is hurt. Pitts and M. Davis are both new to the Falcons and we aren’t sure what they will do this year. But all three could have big years. P Fro found some value later but not a treasure trove of talent and upside. It leaves me with another mediocre team. They should be relevant all year with the first 3 picks, but we are trying to win Championships here. And this isn’t the team for me.

Apot – 6th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)

Mahommes in the 6th pick must have been a dream come true for this team. I like grabbing the RBs early and then another solid QB in Tannehill. Sneaking Hockenson onto the team in the 6th seems like a good value as well. Some RB potential late and the WRs are solid. Picking up the two patriots QBs at the time is an interesting move to assure a 3rd QB for this team. I like this team to get to the playoffs. A couple of gifts, a couple of good picks, and this is a solid team.

Lefty 2104 – 7th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)

Trip running backs lead off this team and they are solid. Pair that with some young talented receivers and the skill positions are looking good. Fields as a QB2 is a little concerning but these wrong handers picked up two more starting QBs later to ease that concern. The biggest issue I have is that Saquon and Fields could have slow starts. This team has enough good high upside picks late in the draft that even a loss or two early will not derail their playoff hopes and dreams.

A Leonard – 8th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)

Even though Dobbins is out for the year, Gus the Bus is on this team which eases the preseason loss. A second round pick of Zeke could be an absolute steal at the end of the season anyway. The WRs all have the potential to put up big seasons. I also really like Trey Lance as a QB3. He should be playing by the time we hit bye weeks and he should be scoring a lot of points by the time the playoffs roll around. I am having an issue this year liking too many teams. I already have most of the spots filled for the minors next year with 4 picks to go. Lets get some disasters on the board.

BrBarnfield– 9th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

The latest QB1 on a team went to BrB in the 6th round. It leaves a bit to be desired. Especially with Carr and Garappolo on the team. The firepower is not coming from the QB position on this team. Everything else needs to be dominant. Chubb, Tyreek, and AJ Brown are all solid picks. Josh Jacobs seems to be slowing down already. OBJ and RoJo both have some potential, but I just don’t see either one breaking out into the top 12. I think this team will struggle at QB and without that consistency, they are going to finding their way onto the loser board.

Luke Mcafee – 10th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

RB2 with James Robinson is looking better than the draft but there really isn’t an RB3 on this team. The rest of the team I keep looking at and I am just not excited about anything. Everything is okay. I can see Brady declining, finally. I can see Russ having a good half of the season and a bad half like he often does. I can see Godwin disappearing some games. I can see Thielen getting old. I can see JT having competition for touches. I just see problems, and another year in the Amateurs.

Rbegun – 11th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)

After ignoring the RB position for 3 rounds, there was still some decent RBs available. Sanders and Hunt could be serviceable. You would really like to see the other positions loaded up. Dak and D Adams certainly fit the bill but Stafford is just a lot hype right now. There is good value down the draft but I wonder if this team is lacking some firepower ignoring RB early. Minor Leagues for sure but I think the playoffs are out of reach.

MeathRoyals – 12th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)

After a QB, TE start including Kelce. The Royals have 2 solid Rbs and a backup followed up with some solid WRs. Fitzpatrick is a nice find late as a QB2. Michael Thomas could come on late to make a run at the playoffs but by that time Dalton will be done. Only two QBs essentially makes me nervous. If anything doesn’t work out for this team they will be struggling. There is not a ton of room for error. Because of that I have this team missing the playoffs as well.
