Minor League X Draft Recap

Welcome to Minor League X 2021. Lets get to it.

kbeals – 1st Pick Prediction – Champions League

An interesting choice waiting until the end of the 4th for the 1st QB. Ryan and Cousins don’t excite you at QB but the manager was able to pick up 3 good RBs and a couple of weapons at WR. Beals went back for the QBs two more times in the draft to get 4 starting QBs which can create some good trade bait later on. Overall the build worked out well for this team. It will all come down to how much the 3rd and 4th QBs are worth. I am going to take the over and put this team in the Champions League next year.

Yinzer – 2nd Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues

Strong RBs early paired with Kittle create the core of the team. Then two rookie QBs. If it was only those two QBs I would be very concerned. However, he was allowed to pick up Darnold late and the Bridgewater pick is looking good. Early in the season, this quartet may not be strongest but they could really come on late. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of depth at RB on this team after the top two. 7 WRs seems a bit unnecessary. A couple more RBs and I would have had this team in the Champions League, but for now, I am going to leave them on the outside looking in.

TheJessica – 3rd Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

The Jessica picked up the The Patrick Mahomes, The Ekeler, and The AJ Brown to open up strong. But The Baker Mayfield may be The first mistake. It feels a bit early to pick up The QB of one of The run heaviest teams. Then picking up The top WR in The NFL draft may not be a great pick for this year. There just isn’t much behind these players. I think this could be a trip to The Amateur Hour League.

Talon – 4th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

These birds have had a hard time with injuries over the years and it continues picking up JK Dobbins. Unfortunately, it moves up Phillip Lindsay to the RB2 role. There is a wildcard in this flock and that is Deshaun Watson. If he gets a starting job, it would cover the loss of a 3rd round pick. Without that this RB room is going to be too weak without star QBs or a star TE. This team may not be soaring to new heights this year.

Team Carr – 5th Pick Prediction – Champions League

I like the early RBs with QBs and WRs filling in. Hockenson in the 7th seems like a great value. Grab a few more RBs, a 3rd QB and some WRs to fill in for the bye weeks. Check, Check, Check. Great balance on the team and a well-executed draft. Well done and enjoy the victories this year.

nDeuro – 6th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues

What may have been somewhat of a zero RB strategy became minus 1 RB when Etienne went out. I love all the other positions but that is what happens when you wait on RB. Gus Edwards did get a bump up and maybe one of the other RBs finds a bigger role this year. Ultimately the QB, TE, and WRs are going to get you some wins. Losing a 6th round pick isn’t the end of the word. But I am concerned if this team can really compete without a strong RB room.

FFinnAnalyst – 7th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues

I don’t mind starting QB, WR when you followup it up with 3 RB starters plus another starter later in the draft. The WRs are solid and the QB choices are interesting. Kyler is clearly a star and Fields is going to start at some point this year. Picking up Dalton covers the team for the first few weeks but is that really who you want to start? I think this team is on the borderline of the playoffs. Maybe trading one of the RBs or getting Fields starting early could push this team up. I think it needs a bit of work but I can’t quite give them a Champions League spot just yet.

Farmer Hen – 8th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues

Farmer Hen had a farm E I E I O. On that farm there he had a Burrow, With a TD here and a TD there, Here a T, There a D, Everywhere a TD. Farmer Hen had a farm E I E I O. And on that farm he had a Chark. With a chomp chomp here and a chomp chomp there. Here a chomp there a chomp everywhere a chomp chomp. Farmer Hen had a farm. E I E I O. And on that farm he had a Carr. With a vroom vroom here and a vroom vroom there. Here a vroom there a vroom, everywhere a vroom vroom. Farm Hen had a farm E I E I O. And on that farm he had some Woods. With a … well trees don’t make a sound. Minor Leagues.

Jess Beals– 9th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

This team is going all out. It could be the best team in the league or the worst. The middle of the draft selects Mike Davis, Hurts, Andrews, OBJ and Michael Thomas all of whom be elite point scorers. They have all proven they can disappoint at the same time. I think you will see this team put up the top points in a week a couple of times during the season. I think they will also have a couple of weeks at the bottom of the heap. If this team makes the playoffs, they will the favorite to win it all. But I think this all goes up in flames.

OnsideChick – 10th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League

I would love this team in best ball. Will either Javonte Williams, Sermon, or AJ Dillon have a great week each week. Yeah. Will Ben Roethlisberger and Mac Jones have big weeks. I think so. Even Thielen and Deebo will blow up some weeks. But the key will be choosing who to start and who to sit. All of that starts soon. I think it is going to be too much to get multiple picks correct every week. And one weak link can lead to an L.

JW– 11th Prediction – Champions League

Tannehill and Fitzpatrick could be two great values at their draft positions. Two top-tier RBs with a solid 3rd RB rounds out that room. Logan Thomas is a value if he plays like last year and the rest of picks really offer some upside. Jamal Williams in the 14th could be a steal. Claypool and Michael Pittman could easily step up their games this season and be major contributors. It is unfortunate Cam is out, but I think this team is a strong build and could be the ticket to the playoffs.

Team Mark Nading – 12th Prediction – Minor Leagues

A Devonte Adams Aaron Rodgers stack at the start should give a solid base week in and week out. Carson and Montgomery have shown highs and lows but have a lot of potential. And James Robinson in the RB3 spot has improved his stock greatly since the draft. The NO QB was also locked up by this team on the turn. All I have left is a spot in the Amateurs but this team doesn’t deserve to be there. Lets go find someone to move down.
