A big Congratulations to your first ever Champion of Champions, Kevin Brady. Disgusting act by Randy Moss stands above all the other 47 teams as the reigning champion. Unfortunately, other than a little cash and a blog post in an obscure website, Kevin will be receiving nothing but the satisfaction of destroying all contenders. Maybe we will have a trophy or something soon. If you have some ideas, please send them my way.
I’m sure you are all dying to know how my predictions were. I went 4 out of 12 which isn’t too great. This is a hard league to predict due to the two teams that make the champions league but not the playoffs.
Thank you everyone for a great season and good luck next year!
The predictions are my original predictions from after the draft. The order of teams is the same as the draft order. Please feel free to go post a comment in the forum if you have any thoughts.
Team McAfee – 7th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
Team McAfee wasn’t able to make any progress down the stretch. That isn’t too surprising since McAfee had the lowest points for during the entire season. A 5-6 record is actually fairly decent considering the points. McAfee will be back in the minor leagues next year looking to make his way back into the top league.
Norfolk Yokels – 6th Place Prediction – Playoffs
The Yokels made a late push to get into the top 6, but it was one-win shy of a playoff spot. A lucky couple of weeks by the commissioner kept this team out of the playoffs. It didn’t really make a big difference because this team would have taken huge hits in the playoffs without AJ Green, Alex Collins, Emmanuel Sanders, James Conner, or Josh Gordon. So the result is the same, another shot at the title in 2019.
Kerryon Up the Khyber – 9th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
A 1-4 finish down the stretch is rough, but not very surprising. Kerryon finished with the second lowest point total in the Champions League. So even if Kerryon had pulled out one more win, they surely would have lost the tie breaker. Jarvis Landry and Trey Burton were poised for great years at the start of the season but both really disappointed throughout the year. The Khyber will look to find the magic next year to break into the top league once again.
Don’t Drink and Draft – 12th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
Don’t Drink and Draft wins the award for sticking with the league despite a rough 0-7 start. A 3-1 finish shows how one team can still make an impact in the league. It was part of the reason Kerryon didn’t make it into the Champions League next year. This is a very short league and drafting injured eagles and suspended players like Ingram really hurts a team’s chances of doing well. Next year we may see the value of these types of players take a large dip.
Team Essman – 5th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
Team Essman had one of the most crushing finishing stretch of any team. Not only did essman go 1-4 in the final 4 weeks to teams that scored above 128 points every week. Still though, in week 11, a win would have sent Essman to the playoffs. Going into Monday night Essman had 136 points and was up by 59.1 points. The opponent, Team Williams, had two players. Those two players were Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce facing the LA Rams. 59.6 points later, Essman was out of the playoffs. Absolutely brutal.
Disgusting Act by Randy Moss – 1st Place Prediction – Champions League (No Playoffs)
Barkley, Chubb, and Mixon make a solid RB core. Dak gained a friend in the second of the season and Keenan Allen anchored the WRs. For the starting lineup, 4 players were top 10 in the position, 4 were 11-20, and Julian Edelman was the only one to be outside the top 20 at 22. It is impressive to achieve this kind of consistency through the whole starting lineup at the end of the year. Congrats again to our Champion. We will see if a repeat is in the works next year.
Return of the Mack – 4th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
The Mack was number 1 in regular season scoring by almost 100 points. This was helped in part by Tyreek Hill and Jared Goff not having their byes yet. It looked like this team was unlucky in the first week of the playoffs losing these two players, but to be honest the team just stunk the whole playoffs. The team couldn’t break 80 points for 3 of the 4 weeks. And the future champion was an absolute beast needing only one week to score more points than the Mack’s two-week total. Its another year in the Champions League and we will see if this team can show up in the playoffs next time.
Team Eline – 3rd Place Prediction – Playoffs
The team that benefited from Essman’s crushing loss, Team Eline. But that was the end of a long run of absolute luck. The luck ran out in the 1st round of the playoffs. Some poor roster management as the Tennessee Titans plagued this team all year. On the bench, Mariotta had enough points to get this team into the second round of the playoffs. It wouldn’t have been enough to win a championship, but second place was available. The commissioner is the Champions League again, looking to climb the last few spots.
Team Williams – 11th Place Prediction – Playoffs
Team Williams finished the season 3-2. A tough loss in week 8, 142.4 -148, sealed the fate of this team. Despite engineering the great comeback against the Essmen, Team Williams will be heading back to the minor leagues. It is a shame because the opposing teams put up 1468 points which was the most in the league. This team had the # 1 QB, #1 and #3 TE, and the #3 and #5 WRs. This team was solid. Unfortunately, they could never quite put together enough points to get the W.
Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen – 8h Place Prediction – Champions League (No Playoffs)
This team could never put together enough solid RBs. Dalvin Cook, Josh Adams, Kerryon Johnson, and Carlos Hyde all had a few good weeks, but they also had weeks that would shut down the kitchen. Ertz, Hopkins, and Cooks would keep the team close, but everyone else on the team would just disappoint. The bench only had one skill player in the top 33 in the respective position at the end of the season. Not a winning formula.
Make Fantasy Great Again – 2nd Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
The regular season champion squeezed past the 1st round but wasn’t able to seal the deal in the championship game. They had no answer for a 165-point week one by the now champions. Christian McCaffrey was the MVP of this team. By all accounts, this team had a great season and should be proud of 2nd place victory. We will see if they can get back to the big game next year.
The Dre Tones – 10th Place Prediction – Playoffs
The Dre Tones tried to make it interesting by snapping a 6-game losing streak to beat the commissioner. But it wasn’t enough to keep that team out of the playoffs or make a difference in this team’s season. It was a big disappointment after a 2-2 start with over 100 points each of those weeks. It was all downhill after that. Fournette really tanked this team.
