This League had an amazing year so thank you everyone! And Congratulations to our Champion, Not Your Mama!
This league had so many points scored I checked the scoring rules a few times. But they were correct. This league just managed to always roll out the best players, week in and week out. I’m looking forward to seeing how the people in this league fare next year as they face off against seasoned competition in the Minor Leagues. We will see if this was a one-year lucky streak or if this league is really that good.
A 4 out of 12 for my predictions which continues my mediocre streak through the RFFA.
The predictions are my original predictions from after the draft. The order of teams is the same as the draft order. Please feel free to go to the forum if you have any comments.
DeShaun of the Dead – 12th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
As good as some teams were in this league, DeShaun just never found the magic. I just found a new stat screen on the site and All of the players on DeShaun’s roster put up 1751 points for the season. The top team for this league put up 1798 with only the starters. Other than Ebron, nobody stepped up for this team. People were injured including Lynch, Flacco, and well it doesn’t really matter. This team stunk and will be back in the bottom again.
Not Your Mama – 1st Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
It was a hard-fought season to get the championship game. A 6-5 season despite putting up 1620 points. Then the playoffs were decided by a total of 12.5 points. That is pretty slim for 4 weeks of competition. In the end, this Mama is standing over all the other Amateurs and on her way to the Minor Leagues. Congratulations once again!
Team Camin– 5th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
Team Camin missed the playoffs by a meager 13 points which is tough after putting up over 1400 points in total. Some late struggles by the Rams as well as Jack Doyle going down were just enough to pull team Camin under the line. A great season none the less, especially after losing Garoppolo early. Camin will be moving into the minor leagues and looking to claw back those last couple points and make a playoff run next year.
Winning Saquan My Balls – 4th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
These Balls had the easiest schedule all year. Teams were only able to put up 1286 points all year on this team. When only 3 teams put up less than this number and 7 teams put up over 1400 points, that is a very odd number. But the Balls were one of those teams that put up over 1400 points and deserving of a playoff spot. After a couple close losses, they wound up in 4th place. Its good enough to advance this year, but next year these Balls will have to find a playoff win if they want to get into the Champion’s League.
Team Eline – 8th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Team Eline strung together 3 wins to finish the season and finish solidly in the minor leagues next year. The team was only 1 win and a handful of points away from the playoffs. This is another team that had a solid year and would have been in the playoffs in most leagues. But these Amateurs were out to prove something. Team Eline will return to the Minor Leagues in search for the Champions League invite.
Thanos Was Right – 6th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Turns out he was wrong. Losing 4 out of the last 4 weeks dropsped Thanos out of playoffs contention. Some late injuries and Gronk just not showing up really caused issues for this team. It could be Gronk’s last year or he may be back. It will be interesting to see how he is treated next year after a very pedestrian 2018. Will anybody draft him like the star he used to be?
Principal Incredible – 7th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
This team squeezed out 7th place and a 5-6 record despite a very questionable roster. The team actually started and ended the season with 3 game losing streaks. This has to surely be a sign of questionable coaching. Maybe the team wasn’t ready at the start of the season. Maybe they became too cocky during the 5-game winning streak. Either way, this manager needs to get the players heads straight because the Minor Leagues will certainly be a test of their mental fortitude.
Omaha Beef – 9th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
The Beefs finally came to life in the playoffs, winning the bottom bracket for the 9th place finish. Players finally got healthy and started playing including Dalvin Cook, Fournette, and Amari Cooper. This included a 338 point 1st leg of the playoffs and a 258 point 2nd leg. The second leg wouldn’t have topped our current champions but those point totals are impressive none the less. The Beefs will look to take what they learned at the end of the season and try to get off to a better start next year.
Lucky Dogs – 3rd Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
1798 points for the regular season is a mark that will probably hold up for a couple of years at least in the RFFA. Unfortunately, a 1st round loss in the playoffs will leave this season as a disappointment. Sort of like the 2007 Patriots that just couldn’t quite finish their record season either. They should hold their heads high though because this team drafted well and managed the roster well for the entire season. The team just ran out of gas in the second leg of the 1st round of the playoffs. Somehow none of the stars really stepped up and produced.
Pettine Zoo – 2nd Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
This Zoo had some drama through the year trying to manage Jameis Winston and Ryan Fitzpatrick. They charted a safe course through those treacherous waters and put up just enough points to squeeze into the playoffs at 6-5. A strong first round led by McCaffrey put this team in the championship where they came up just short of securing the 1st ever Amateur Hour League trophy. It was a solid year with some good consistency and a strong playoff push. Next year this team should do well in the Minors.
Light Sleepers – 10th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
The Sleepers finally woke up in week 7 as they started to get their first wins. In fact, they gathered wins in 4 of the last 5 weeks. Including a final week win that almost put the Pettine Zoo out of the playoffs. It was a great let effort and I commend this team for sticking with the league despite being knocked out of the playoffs early. Unfortunately, the late run wasn’t enough to advance to the Minor Leagues. Every league is competitive, and people need to bring their top game with them from the start.
Deez Lutz – 11th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Deez Lutz had a rough year with the second most points scored against this team. Injuries to Ajayi and Will Fuller knocked out any hope of this team gaining some late wins. The last 3 weeks of the season were rough and put Deez Lutz near the bottom of the table. It will be another year in the Amateur Hour League along with 3 other teams. But they will be joined with 8 other teams hungry for their chance to get back to the Minor Leagues.
