Minor League X Mid-Season Update 2018

This league is looking fairly evenly distributed at this point. There are teams getting ready for the playoffs and teams who are looking at a trip to the amateur hour league. But everyone still has something to play for. Good luck for the final few weeks of the season.

The predictions are my original predictions from after the draft. The order of teams is the same as the draft order. Please feel free to go to the forum if you have any comments.

The Villian Club – 2nd Place Prediction – Champions League

Not only did they get their name right, but they got a lot of draft picks right too. At 5-1 and the second most points scored, these evil doers are getting ready for a trip to the Champions League and a shot at some cash. And they have managed to do all of this with Bell sitting on the bench. If he comes back to his old role, this team will be terrifying in the playoffs. For once the villains may actually come out on top at the end of the day.

Team Carr – 9th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League

The robot revolution is still looking like it is a couple of years out as this autodraft team is sitting at 2-4. And now that Josh Allen is out, Team Carr has turned too…..Brock Osweiler? I think that is about all you need to know about this team. There are a lot of great players on this team, just not at QB. I think it is time to make a trade. Who wants Gurley?

Alstadt Biergarten – 5th Place Prediction – Champions League

The Beers survived the time without Mark Ingram and are sitting pretty at 4-2 with a full complement of players. This team is in a great position to make a postseason run. Some would call this karma. When you are a good fan to your team, the football gods reward you with wins. Andrew Luck is throwing to anybody who can stay on the field for the colts and still putting up solid numbers week after week. Definitely a solid choice and good value at the position.

Stoke Penguins – 3rd Place Prediction – Champions League

The Stoke Penguins, like team Essman in the Champions League, have gone zero RB and it is paying off for them at the tune of 5-1. Edelman is back in time for AB’s bye week and this team looks strong. The bench is looking a little thin now with Alfred Morris and Carlos Hyde dropping in production, but this team can drop a few games during the bye weeks and still get into a solid playoff spot.

Team Cheng – 7th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues

Team Cheng could be luckiest and unluckiest team possible. The starters have been absolutely brutal. David Johnson started slow. Cobb, Hilton, and Ajayi have been hurt. And Amari Cooper is Amari Cooper. Add on an early Carson Wentz injury and this team is at 2-4. But Calvin Ridley and Tyler Boyd have both shown flashes of being top 20 WRs. This team has the ability to make a run at the back end of the playoffs, but most likely they will be stuck in the middle and remain in the minor leagues.

TheFanPub Podcast – 1st Place Prediction – Minor leagues

I think it is about time everyone starts tuning into this podcast every week. Here is the website. http://www.thefanpub.com At 6-0 with the most points scored, the Podcast is destroying the competition. Even though some the RBs have been disappointing recently, the team still has plenty of ammunition to take out any challenger. Adding OJ Howard off the waiver wire was a gift and may just seal the deal as the Podcast records its next episode entitled “How to Dominate Your League”

Los Pollos Hermanos – 4th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues

Despite leaning on CJ Beathard and Mariotta as the QBs, the Hermanos are out to a 4-2 start with a solid point total. Alvin Kamara and Melvin Gordon have taken this team on their backs and are the main reason for this great start. Kamara and Gordon must be the real-life chicken brothers. They will be battling it out with the beers for that last playoff spot and it should be a great duel down the stretch. In week 4 Alstadt took down the Pollos in an epic 164.7 to 158.9 brawl. We will see who gets the last laugh at the end of the season.

Team Begun – 6th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League

Team Begun has a solid team but has consistently just come up a bit short. At 3-3 everything is still possible for this team. Most of the hopes hinge on James Connor maintaining his workload in Pittsburgh. That has more than offset the loss of Freeman for most of this season. A little more luck and a few wins may just be the beginning of a playoff run for Begun.

Team Froass – 11th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League

We are supposed to have self-driving cars but we can’t even make an auto-draft that works. At 1-5 Froass has had a tough start. There are a lot of good players on this team though and the team has lucked their way into a second QB with Turbisky. For some reason, Cheng dropped Turbisky in a 2QB league. And with that change, this team now has a complete lineup. There is an outside chance that this team could get into the middle 4 and stay in the Minor Leagues.

Team Eline – 10th Place Prediction - Minor Leagues

In no way is Team Eline associated with the commissioner or any family member of the commissioner. The team is not funded, supported, condoned, tolerated, acknowledged, or accepted by the commissioner. I can no longer discuss this team until the conclusion of the defamation lawsuit has completed. Please contact the RFFA lawyers for further information.

Lucky Mama – 8th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League

Hello karma. How are you? I’m glad you are doing well. Has Lucky Mama paid for choosing Brady as the number 1 overall QB despite being a Colts fan? Oh, she hasn’t. You say there are at least a few more weeks that Fournette will be injured. I guess that is fair. That one game was really mean though. Letting Fournette start but pulling him shortly after the start is brutal. But yes, I understand it had to be done.

Trav Esty – 12th Place Prediction – Champions League

I think the name says it all. Rodgers and Thielen couldn’t save the team with injuries to Mixon, Goodwin, and the all-around disappointment of Henry. The only thing sadder than a 1-5 start in 12th place is poor timing on bye weeks. All three drafted QBs are on bye for week 7. Even though this is a 2QB league, I truly did not think Derek Anderson would be started. But here we are. The hopes and dreams of staying in the minors rest on Derek Anderson’s arm. RIP Trav Esty.
