Welcome to the RFFA. Thank you for joining and good luck climbing up from the bottom. 2020 could be your year as the Champion of Champions.
Another league a little slow on the QBs until we hit rounds 5 and 6. Of the 24 picks, 9 were QBs in these rounds. We will see how everyone drafts next year. Maybe it is a first-year thing in this league. Only time will tell. 8 of you will be moving up to the minor leagues. Best of luck.
Team Begun – 1st Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
One of the two teams competing from last year in the Amateur Hour League. Begun began with Le’Veon Bell with the first pick. Well, he should be fresh for the playoffs if he plays at that point. A late Peterson pick could get save this team though. The team is otherwise fairly balanced with one of the top QBs. Begun grabbed Watson just before the QB run in the 5th and 6th runs. Lacking Le’Veon Bell will keep this team out of the playoffs, but maybe this year they will get in the minor leagues.
Not Your Mama – 2nd Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
Mama waited on QB until rounds 8 and 9 and found good value with those picks by picking up young upside QBs Turbisky and Mahomes. While everyone else was choosing QBs, Mama picked up Evan Ingram and Emmanuel Sanders. If the two QBs step up and reach their potential, this team will have one of the deepest rosters in the skill positions. The late picks lack the big play upside but should be solid flex replacements during the bye week. This team should be consistently good on their way to the playoffs.
Team Camin– 3rd Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
Camin grabbed two QBs slated for great years in Philip Rivers and Jimmy G. He combined that with a solid RB group that includes McKinnon’s backup which should keep Camin relevant. There is a lot of pressure on the old shoulders of Larry Fitzgerald to continue to be a WR1. That may be a bit too much weight for what will most likely be his final season. He will probably even see some games with a rookie QB. Some late rookie picks could save this team, but it probably won’t be enough to make the playoffs.
Winning Saquan My Balls – 4th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
Balls have two WRs that have finished a season as a dominant WR. However, one of them has barely played in the past 3 years. If Gordon finds his way back to the endzone then this team could be scary. I don’t see it happening and Crabtree may struggle to put up points catching passes from Flacco. Another team on the brink of making something happen but in the end falling short.
Team Eline – 5th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League
The other veteran team in this league started by filling out the RBs and WRs. Then oddly he only chose one QB. A risky pick at TE in Reed puts this team at risk of another rough season. Or this could be the new way to play a superflex league. RBs and WRs get injured so stock up on those and ride one QB through the season. Either ESPN should hire this owner as their new fantasy football analyst or Team Eline will see another season in the Amateur Hour League.
Thanos Was Right – 6th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League
An early Gronk pick leaves this team a little thin at WR. Devin Funchess may not prove to be the WR2 that many are hopeful for, especially with a new rookie across from him. Keelan Cole and Anthony Miller could have breakout years. But Keelan Cole is relying on the same player Thanos is relying on for QB2 production, Blake Bortles. It seems unlikely Bortles is going to save this team with his great play and Thanos will be in the basement again next year.
Principal Incredible – 7th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League
I bet this Principal was excited to see Wentz available in the 8th round until he found Wentz wasn’t going to be available for week one. Luckily Principal also drafted…no one. Better hope that waiver wire is friendly for week one. I am guessing this is going to be a constant problem throughout the season for this school administrator. Its detention and another year in the Amateur Hour League for this team.
Omaha Beef – 8th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
If this team were a steak, they would be a nicely aged NY strip. Packed with depth, especially at the QB position, there are going to be a lot of people knocking on this owner’s door asking for a trade. The team is set up to compete from week 1 and in the championship game where they will almost certainly be at the end of the year.
Lucky Dogs – 9th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (Playoffs)
These dogs won’t need much luck with this solid roster. Trey Burton could easily break out this year and be a top 5 TE. The pick of the draft may be the 16th round selection of James Connor. A player that looks to be a top 24 RB starting week 1. By the time Le’Veon returns, Ingram will be playing, and the Dogs will be in the playoffs.
Pettine Zoo – 10th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
The zoo is a little weak at RB. With only 0.5 points per reception, McCaffrey and Thompson may have a little less value. And the RBs behind them aren’t inspiring a lot of confidence. This team is going to have to work some waiver wire magic to find some RBs for the bye weeks. The WRs will pull this team into the minor leagues but the RBs are going to keep them out of the playoffs.
Light Sleepers – 11th Prediction – Minor Leagues (No Playoffs)
This team needs some sleepers to step up. With Baldwin injured and Corey Davis unproven, WR2 on this team is still up in the air. Two rookie RBs make up the bench but neither figure to be bell cow backs this season, or at all in the case of RoJo. This team is going to put up a couple of great weeks, but most weeks this owner is going to be losing sleep trying to put together a solid starting lineup.
Deez Lutz – 12th Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Ajay is the RB2 with very little depth behind him. And Luck is the only QB other than Foles. The WRs are stacked and Ertz is bolstering the team at TE, but that won’t be enough to keep this team from putting up multiple loses. The only hope is some aggressive trading. No doubt the Principal is interested in Foles early on and could be a trade partner to help turn this team around.
