Congratulations to our X League Champion, Thomas Haggard.
Honorable mention for 2nd place Kevin Brady, 3rd place Luke McAfee, and 4th place Tom Hewitt.
In the first semifinal, Prescott took down the surging McAfees with big games from Ingram and Tyreek Hill. The second semifinal saw a comeback by Randy Moss over Jordy’s Tapes. I don’t think many people saw Bortles as a top 10 QB down the stretch but that is how he is playing. Then in the final, Prescott held on as Randy Moss put up 160.3 points in the final week. It wasn’t enough to overcome two 140+ point weeks by Prescott. A fantastic championship matchup.
Team Carr – 7th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
David Johnson on IR, Bradford to IR, and poor performances from Emmanuel Sanders, DeSean Jackson, Kelvin Benjamin, and Eddie Lacy? Take the 7th place and walk out the door with a smile on your face. Throw this team in the trash and good luck next year in the Minor Leagues.
Hit me with your Prescott – 1st Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
A great year for team Prescott. Le’Veon and Ingram lead the way with overperformances from Tyreek Hill and Robert Woods to make this team fantastic. Congrats and good luck next year in the Champions League.
Texas Forever – 5th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
Maybe I was a little harsh on this team in the post draft prediction. Young players really stepped up for this team all year. A few too many injuries cost this team a playoff spot, but it came down to the last week. Dez and Amari Cooper also struggled to fill the flex spot. Expect this team to draft all the rookies again next year as Texas Forever looks to make it to the Champions League.
Zero Everything – 10th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
This team gets the award for most appropriate name. Even Engram was good. Julio had one good game. Cousins and Funchess were okay. And that’s about it. Lets just take this as a list of players to avoid next year. Thanks for the advice for next year Zero Everything.
Lucky Mama – 11th Place Prediction – Champions League
Spencer Ware going down was an early indication of problems for this team. Then Odell went down. Moncrief and Mariota did nothing. It was a good fight but after the first few weeks it was a losing battle because this team also had the second most points allowed.
Team McAfee – 3rd Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
Despite a top scoring team, McAfee needed a couple late wins in the regular season to make the playoffs. Then the team fell flat in the first round of the playoffs. Overall this team had a great year despite TY Hilton putting up basically nothing. This team showed that a superflex league doesn’t necessarily mean two QBs. Every starter on this team averaged more than 10 points per week. The one exception was still above 9.5 points. A solid team up and down.
Alstadt Biergarten – 6th Place Prediction – Amateur Hour League
An up and down year led to a mid-pack finish for the Milwaukee Beers. A late season push was derailed by the Aaron Rodgers injury, Elliott suspension, and Chris Hogan Injury. Add in injuries to ARob and Brandon Marshall and this finish isn’t too bad. All the injuries were really bunched within few teams in this league.
Team Eline – 12th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
Sure, the team was terrible. Trevor Simian as the only QB drafted was a risk that didn’t pay out. But 1425 points allowed is absolutely ridiculous. This was 70 points clear of any team’s points for or points allowed. Apparently other teams do not want to tell the truth and they decided to destroy this team week after week. There was a single win in the season making this team better than some other teams in the RFFA. Maybe next year change your name to Goodell is God or something like that.
Rick and Mortd’s – 8th Place Prediction – Champions League
Brady and Hopkins were great picks, but the rest left something to be desired. When Agholor is your flex and Theo Riddick is RB2, you know there are problems. Chris Carson looked like the solution briefly but his injury put left this team just barely hanging on to a spot in the Minor Leagues.
Disgusting Act by Randy Moss – 2nd Place Prediction – Champions League
Another one of those top teams that was just stacked by the end of it. Fournette, Hunt, and Kamara were all on this team. AJ Green and Michael Thomas as WRs. He bet on the young talent and it paid off big. Just a few points short of a championship in the end. This team should be one to watch next year in the Champions League.
Jordy, I hope There Are Tapes – 4th Place Prediction – Minor Leagues
3 out of 4 teams in the playoffs had over 1300 points for the season. This team had 1180. Certainly, one of the luckiest teams in the entire RFFA. Alex Smith won this team some games but overall the team is just mediocre at best. Don’t bet on this team in the Champions League next year.
Team Begun – 9th Place Prediction – Champions League
This team showed moments of greatness but there was never a full team all year. Aaron Jones, Marquise Lee, Rex Burkhead, and JuJu all head great stretches but on any given week this team was incomplete. Even a great year by Keenan Allen couldn’t keep them out of the basement. Brees and Carr certainly weren’t the QB duo this Begun hoped for.
