This league is all about the stack. Go all in on one team to perform and win big. This league must be full of daily fantasy football fans. However, it takes a whole season to win in this league so let’s see who has put together the best team for a Champions League run and who is going back to Draft Kings to win their $20 back.
Cheng’s Squad – 1st Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues A balanced start picking up 1 RB, WR, TE, and QB in the 1st 4 rounds leads to a solid team across the board. Unfortunately, both QBs are working back from an injury. They both need to be healthy for week 1 in order of this team to see early success. An early pick of the Seahawks D has left the bench a little weak. There is a lot of experience between Marshall, Forte, and Witten but you don’t get any fantasy points for mentoring in this league.
Green Bay Spackers – 2nd Pick Prediction – Championship League A strong start to the draft allowed the Spackers to throw some darts at Rawls, Charles, and Foreman. One of these players will need to become a big factor for this team to see the finals. The QBs bring the biggest question for the team. Stafford had a poor end to last season and Roethlisberger struggles on the road. This team will be boom or bust. I think the darts will pay off and carry the QBs to the championship league.
Running Back U – 3rd Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues Apparently having the 3rd pick makes you go for the young players. Running Back U followed Texas Forever’s plan of praying for some break out rookie running backs. A lot of depth was taken at RB to cover the unknown of the first few weeks. This hurt WR badly leaving a questionable John Brown or young WRs to carry the WR2 role. By week 7, this team should be so stacked at RB they can trade for any player. The question again is does it matter at that point?
Atlanta’s Chick Fil A Stand – 4th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League Clearly, this team is going to struggle when they bench every player with a Sunday game. Playing only players from Thursday and Monday night games probably won’t score enough points. Other than that, waiting on QBs left this stand with two has beens. Expect to see some trades coming from this team with the RB/WR depth and the desire to play on Monday night every week.
Show Me Your TDS, Aaron – 5th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues A strong start to the draft fell apart a bit in later rounds grabbing 2 defenses and 2 TEs with little depth at any other position. This team will be active early and often on the waiver wire in order to maintain the good start to the season. Stacking WRs and QBs should also lead to some boom or bust weeks. If Dak and Rodgers struggle, the ripples are going through the whole team.
Sneaky Little B’s – 6th Pick Prediction – Champions League This league is sort of boring so far. Not nearly as many crazy strategies as league X. This team did well in the draft. Despite waiting a bit on the RB2, PPR specialists Woodhead and Duke Johnson should be able to secure the points needed. A lot of upside on the bench has placed this team in a great position for the playoffs.
Disco Ninja’s – 7th Pick Prediction – Amateur Hour League Another QB/WR stack relying heavily on Atlanta. Much like the sneaky little B’s, the top of the draft is pretty solid with some upside on the bench. Although more questions surround Ingram and ARob which leave this team lacking a bit through the year. It is unlikely Jack Doyle or Latavius Murray are going to be the savior of this team. Although if Deshaun Watson gets a chance to run around he could be a huge value.
Team Begun – 8th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues Did everyone just pick a team before the draft and agree no one else could take those players? Another 1st and 2nd round QB/WR stack. Sorry Tyler, Brandin Cooks is no longer in New Orleans. Good try though. Apparently, Team Begun has only followed New Orleans for the past 5 years as his first 7 picks either played for New Orleans or are over 30 years old. But I understand. Cleveland has been dreadful, it only makes sense to stop cheering for them and find a good team.
Cookout’s Champions – 9th Pick Prediction – Minor Leagues Cookout needs to study the other teams to figure out how to stack players. Ideally, it is a good QB and the top WR. Not an aging QB and the 3rd WR on that team. Despite the inability to follow league Y guidelines of stacking, Cookout had a solid start but didn’t manage to find a lot of upside in the late rounds. Cookout will play teams close but will probably start to fall behind unless he can work some magic on the waiver wire.
Team Essman – 10th Pick Prediction – Champions League Essman didn’t get the memo until the 2nd to last round where he picked up the backup RB to try to have a stack with Derek Carr. Better late than never. A solid draft with some lesser known young players on the bench could produce some points later in the season. Certainly plenty of upside to give Team Essman a chance at the playoffs.
Team Froass – 11th Prediction – Amateur Hour League There is a stack, but it ain’t pretty. If the Tyrod Taylor to Jordan Matthews connection becomes something, expect to see this team at the top of the leaderboard. However, the only thing I see the Bills competing for this season is the number 1 pick next year. Unfortunately, that is likely to take Team Froass down with them. We will call it a rebuilding year for Team Froass. Also, trust the system, the future is bright, a lot of potential, it's all coming together, and all the crap bad teams lie about.
Wilfork on First Date – 12th Prediction – Champions League Wilfork on first date or won’t play on first week? Luck and Bryant aren’t definites and Mixon may not have the starting role yet. Get your wins in early against this team because Wilfork will probably round into form later in the season. Leaving a strong mid to late season push for the playoffs. This league is about long-term commitments. So even if the first date isn’t perfect, give it chance and you might find something special.
